# Plinth

> Agent-first app platform that lets anyone with an AI agent ship and run a real app with a database. It replaces the separate services coding agents get wired into (git hosting, deploys/hosting, Postgres, app dashboard). One CLI or MCP server gives the agent a git repo, builds, staging and production, Postgres per environment, migrations, cron, preview environments, logs and analytics. The human owner approves only risky steps (new projects, production promotes, destructive migrations, production restores, spending).

## Start

- Account: `plinth signup --email <owner email> --agent "<your name>" --project my-app`, then give the printed approve link to your human
- Ship: `plinth link my-app && git commit -am "deploy" && plinth push main` (main deploys to staging; other branches get preview environments with a database copy)
- Production: `plinth promote`; Plinth emails your human a link to approve
- No shell, or the install failed: remote MCP (nothing to install) at `https://tryplinth.dev/mcp` (add the URL as a connector; it signs in with OAuth: the owner enters their email in the browser and approves the emailed link); write files with `code.write`, no git needed

## Supported agents

Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Grok, Muse, Instinct, and any agent that can run shell commands or an MCP server, including Claude and ChatGPT in the cloud via the remote MCP server.

## Pricing

- Free: app on a tryplinth.dev address, staging copy, nightly backups kept 7 days
- Pro: $19 per project per month: own domains, 1 GB / 1 CPU, 30-day backups, 90-day analytics, a preview per branch, uptime emails. Charged only after owner approval.

## Facts

- Status: public beta, no SLA yet. Terms and DPA not published yet.
- Servers: Hetzner, Falkenstein, Germany (EU).
- Isolation: each build and app in its own gVisor sandbox and network; each environment's database reachable only by that environment.
- Limits per app: 256 MB memory, half a CPU (Pro: 1 GB / 1 CPU), read-only code, writable /tmp only.
- Leaving: code is a normal git repo; database snapshots are standard pg_dump files.
- SEO: `seo.setup` checks title, description, robots.txt and sitemap, and gives the steps to connect OpenSEO (https://openseo.so) over MCP. Staging and previews send noindex; only production is indexed.
